hallelujah it’s morning

this is a double usage post. i love starting my mornings with great music, usually something that’s upbeat and helps me get in the right frame of mind for the day, so hopefully the “hallelujah it’s morning” posts will be at least a weekly thing.

the other part of this post is to hip you people to one of the greatest renditions of one of the greatest christmas songs ever created. trombone shorty’s version of o holy night is a revelation. incredibly moving and nothing short of stunning. and any other hyperbole you’d like to throw in yourself.

the melody, horns and ts’s arrangement bring out the kind of emotions not usually associated with christmas music. at least not the kind i was brought up on. new orleans never fails to put its own unique spin on things, even centuries-old christmas songs.
